A Little More About Me

Healing unfolds when we create the right conditions for it — when someone feels safe enough, seen enough, supported enough.

I’m Rukhsana, and I’ve been working as a counsellor since 2011.

My journey into this work began with a deep curiosity about how we heal, and what actually helps people reconnect with themselves when life has left them feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck.

What I’ve come to understand is that healing rarely happens through one approach alone. We’re not just our thoughts, or just our emotions, or just our bodies. We’re all of it, woven together. And sometimes what we carry lives not in our minds, but in our nervous system, in the tension we hold, in the breath we forget to take.

This is why my work brings together counselling, trauma therapy, EMDR, somatic approaches, mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga. Not because I believe everyone needs all of these things, but because different moments call for different ways of working. Some days we talk. Some days we work with the body. Sometimes we need to process what’s been held for too long. Sometimes we simply need to slow down and breathe.

I’ve worked across private practice, NHS settings, employee assistance programmes, and holistic wellbeing spaces. I’ve sat with people through grief, trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. And what I’ve learned is this: healing doesn’t follow a formula. It unfolds when we create the right conditions for it. When someone feels safe enough, seen enough, supported enough to begin reconnecting with themselves.

I’m also a clinical supervisor, supporting other therapists and helping professionals in their work. I know how important it is to have space to reflect, to process what arises, and to look after ourselves as we support others.

Above all, I aim to offer a space where you don’t need to perform or pretend. Where you can simply be yourself, exactly as you are.
